About

My name is Chris Baxmann.

I live in Southeastern Michigan. I am a married father of two. I work in security for the Detroit Tigers as a Crowd Manager.

I also own and run my own start-up, GREENBAX DESiGN LLC, to try and help small businesses achieve their goals. I host all my own sites (including this one) on my own servers using WordPress running on OpenSUSE Linux.

I have always had an interest in technology. Most of my educational pursuits have been in computers, network engineering and business. I have earned Associate’s degrees in Computer Information Systems, Technological Sciences and Business Administration from Oakland Community College. I also worked for 5 years at an information technology services firm called Ideal Technology Solutions, Inc. US as a Security Engineer, achieving numerous IT certifications.

I have cultivated my creative side, too. My interests include music (I play guitar, bass and piano), culinary arts (I love food) and woodworking (I build things). I also worked for 15 years as a sports photographer for Lifetouch National Schools Studios, where I not only developed award-winning photography skills but also became familiar with WordPress, administrating the website for the territory.

Creating a business is a marriage of both my technical and my creative sides. Building my own hosting infrastructure is as satisfying to me as developing websites using WordPress. I’ve always learned faster by getting my hands dirty by doing, even though I’m an insatiable reader.
